fears and phobias
Which is?
Unlike natural anxiety or common fear, which is a reaction to a threat or dangerous situation, a fobia is often incoherent, an exacerbated reaction that causes physical and psychological and can seriously compromise people's quality of life.
It starts suddenly: an uncontrollable feeling of panic, terror and intense anxiety. The palms of the hands sweat, the heart beats faster and it is even difficult to breathe. The legs tremble and the body prepares to face or flee the great danger ahead, even if that danger is a simple cockroach.
So are as phobias: irrational and uncontrollable fears, whether of an object, an animal or a situation that usually poses no real danger.
Despite not having a specific cause, phobias can be related to family history with the influence of genetic factors or traumas and difficulties faced throughout life. Many phobias even begin in childhood, during traumatic events that extend into adulthood. A child who has been bitten by a dog, may develop an intense aversion to this animal. People who have been through difficult situations, such as being stuck in an elevator, may avoid closed places, fearful even if unconscious of reliving the situation.
